From: "Andrew niven" To: Subject: Christmas cake recipe for anyone interested Date: Saturday, December 05, 2009 12:57 AM Boil a kilo of mixed fruit in two cups water for about 15 minutes. Allow to go stone cold. Add a packet or two of glace cherries, and a packet of mixed peel. Cream 250 grams butter and one and a half cups brown sugar. Add two tablespoons golden syrup. Beat in six egs, one at a time, beating well between each. Add essences to flavour. Sift in three cups flour, two teaspoons baking powder and whatever spices you like if any. Add cold fruit and mix well. Place into a large square or round cake tin. Bake at about 130-140 C for about three hours depending on depth of cake. Allow to cool in tin before turning out and storing. Cheers Andrew -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "chatlink" group.
