                        Applesauce Oatmeal Muffins

  Amount  Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method
--------  ------------  --------------------------------
   1      cup           all-purpose flour
   3      teaspoons     baking powder
     1/2  teaspoon      cinnamon
     1/2  teaspoon      salt
     1/4  teaspoon      nutmeg
     3/4  cup           rolled oats
     1/4  cup           brown sugar
   1                    egg
     1/4  cup           oil
     1/3  cup           milk
     2/3  cup           applesauce

1.  Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2.  Mix together the dry ingredients in a bowl.
3.  In another bowl, blend the egg, oil, and milk.  Then add the applesauce
and mix.  
4.  Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients, and stir only to
moisten.
5.  Bake at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted
into a muffin comes out clean.
