Chewy Chocolate Oat Chip Cookies 2 sticks butter, softened 1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 cup sugar 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons milk 2 eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 1/2 cups quick or old-fashioned rolled oats 1 cup chopped nuts 2 cups chocolate chips Preheat oven to 375. In bowl, combine butter and brown sugar and sugar. Beat with mixer until creamy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla, beat well. Stir in oats, chocolate chips and nuts, mix well. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 9 to 10 minutes. Cool for 1 minute on pan. Remove to wire rack. Makes 5 dozen.
